Setting the scene for a luxurious 1930s old Hollywood glam, or a glamorous party.

During the mid 1930, women wore tight fitting flowing bridal gowns in a slippery high-sheen luxurious fabric.   Their bridal dresses were often made of satins in silk or rayon. The most used colors in 1930s weddings were ivory, cream, pinkish white or pale blue white and sometimes adorned with silver fox as the favorite fur.  The inspiration for the glamorous gowns were imitations of the luxury evening dresses worn by Hollywood movie stars.

The style of the wedding dresses showcased had cowl necklines, curved trains and long medieval sleeves.  The Bridesmaids often wore similar styles with Juliet cap veils and large bouquets of roses completing the glam wedding Hollywood theme.

In the 1930s, brides sometimes carried a small handbag instead of a bouquet.

Although roses were popular at the time the most popular flowers were the Madonna lily.

Royal weddings also influenced wedding trends of the 1930s.

Syrie Maugham’s famous white room style which ranged from, bright white, to cream, to beige would make an ideal setting a for 1930s themed wedding.

The color schemes of the 1930 could also be repeated in the clothing or the decor. For example the usual colors cocoa brown with hyacinth blue, prune with turquoise or mustard yellow with grey.
