Ooh La La!  A touch of Paris France in Las Vegas.
New England Fine Living visits The Paris Las Vegas

After finding out that my trip to France  had to be canceled, I  decided to plan a long weekend, somewhere in the United States, where no passport was needed. After  pure determination and desire to recreate my Francophile vacation, I purchased a plane ticket and headed west to stay at the Paris, Las Vegas.  There, I would dine in French restaurants,  shop in French boutiques, enjoy coffee and pastry in the boulangeries,  and then take in the show "O" by Cirque Du Soleil (which was at the Bellagio).

Upon entering the hotel, I first noticed the gambling area to my left and French-style villages straight ahead of me. As I walked further into the lobby, I could feel myself starting to decompress, and I allowed myself to soak in my surroundings.  When I turned to my right to find "La Reception" area, I became entranced by the crystal chandeliers that sparkled with opulence.  Thousands of mini rainbows were being created, and they danced off of each individual crystal drop.  I had just come to the conclusion that my weekend could not possibly get any better.

Well, that conclusion was instantly forgotten when I pushed open the door to my room and saw the chic and very Parisian red and black, bedroom... a fully-stocked refrigerator... a 42” TV... and a large draped picture window.  Walking towards the window, I felt a twinge of anticipation as I pulled back the sheers, thinking I was going to be greeted by a view of the city.  Instead, I saw the replica of the Eiffel Tower right out my window and behind that, the Bellagio water show  was in full swing. The unexpected view made the memory of the five-hour flight from Boston fade away.

After I unpacked and put my clothes in the closet, or shall I say armoire, I headed downstairs to walk around and get a bite to eat.

The meals and buffets were wonderful, but for those of you that would like to splurge, or want a small taste of New England, may I suggest the 777 Burger?  That is not only the name, but the price for the meal.... $777.00

This Kobe beef and Maine lobster burger is made with caramelized onions, imported brie cheese, crispy prosciutto, and 100 year aged balsamic vinegar, served with a bottle of Rose Dom Perignon Champagne.  For those of you on a tighter budget... don't worry, there was a Kobe burger available for $18.99.

Since this trip, I have returned to Las Vegas and made it a point to revisit the Paris Las Vegas to get another glimpse of the crystal chandeliers and shop  in the boutiques.
