Are you looking for a treat to top off your cupcakes or dessert for your Patriotic party? Are you looking for something to give to your guests as they leave? Here is a tasty idea for you... Red, White, and Blue Sweethearts! I saw these the other day at my local grocery store and my mouth watered just looking at them thinking of the infinite possibilities of their tasty use.
For the first time, Sweethearts, from NECCO, are stepping out of their Valentine’s Day “sweet spot” and unveiling a new line of Red, White & You Sweethearts. Add them to cupcakes, scatter them on picnic tables or give them out as party goodies to bring a fun, colorful and edible element to any summer BBQ. They look delicious as cupcake toppers or when used to decorate a cake as the American flag (blue Sweethearts for stars and red and white Sweethearts for the stripes). They’re also perfect for creating patriotic treats and fun crafts with children – a terrific activity for 4th of July parties or at summer day camp.
The new Red, White & You Sweethearts display 13 heartfelt phrases, including “I (heart) USA,” “Glory,” “My Hero,” “Miss You,” “Proud of U,” “Thank You,” “USO,” “Honor,” “I (heart) You,” “Brave One,” “Home Safe,” “Valor,” and “Proud.” The new hearts come in all-American flavors, including strawberry, blueberry and vanilla crème, and are available now at local candy retailers.
In addition, the new Sweethearts brand is supporting the USO with a $75,000 commitment, promoting Operation USO Care Package (OUCP) on its Red, White & You packaging, supplying Red, White & You Sweethearts for USO care packages sent this summer, and setting up the site uso.org/sweethearts for those who want to make their own donation to OUCP.
