Ok, we can all pop open a bottle of champagne or wine on Valentines day, but what about putting a little more "heart" into your day. I once overheard a woman talking with a friend about how she does not celebrate Valentines day with her husband anymore. So, I started thinking about different ways we could spend some time with our significant other if you don't want to go out or if you do not have a date or someone in your life right now, why not treat yourself to some self love. . It might be a special meal, a romantic drink by the fireplace or enjoying an old movie. Below, I hope you will find some ideas or inspiration to help you create a special valentines day or valentines night.
A romantic Valentines day for two.
A Picnic by the Fire
Your romantic meal does not have to be served at the table to be enjoyed. Why not set an elegant place setting in front of the fireplace.
Cosmopolitan.com suggests... If you’ve been craving a romantic evening with your guy, here’s an idea that doesn’t require braving the elements: Stay home for a cozy couples’ spa night. You can even add a special twist. A new trend at spas is incorporating heat into treatments. “A massage or body scrub that uses warmth enhances all the senses, which makes the experience feel even more indulgent,” explains dermatologist Jeanine Downie of Montclair, New Jersey. Heat also relaxes you and boosts blood flow, priming your whole bod for the steamy sheet session sure to follow.
We’ve scoped out five tempting and supereasy (but not supergirlie) treatments. Choose one or two to try tonight and we promise you’ll both feel so good that you won’t care how long winter lasts
Tantalizing Tub for Two
A warm bath “helps relax muscle tension,” says Julie Lindh, spa and skin-care director of Townhouse Spa and Acqua Beauty Bar in New York City. It’s a great way to start off your evening, whether you follow it with another treatment or a snuggling session by the fire.
Make-Him-Melt Massage
You already know how good a back rub feels. Add toasty blankets and warm oil and it’ll be even better. Following your bath or shower, give him a sizzling rubdown, then ask him to return the favor.
“Most professional massage tables are heated,” says Mary Blackmon, founder of Spa-Addicts.com. Bring the experience home by having him lie on an electric blanket. (Put a plush towel on top of it too.)
Steamy Scrub
If a bath isn’t your thing, try starting with a warm body-polish treatment and a shower. You’ll banish flaky winter skin and end up soothed and temptingly smooth.
Sexy Shave
Okay, so it’s one treat he can’t reciprocate. But, says Joe Marchesi, co-owner of Truman’s Gentlemen’s Groomers in NYC, this barber shop–style shave “will make him feel warmed up all over.”
Bundle him in a comfy robe, then have him sit on a chair that offers neck support. With his head back, place a hot, damp towel on his cheeks and chin. After two minutes, remove the towel, and massage a preshave oil into his skin.
Red-Hot Rubdown
This sole-warming massage is a great add-on to a back rub or a pleasure booster on its own. “There are points in your feet that are connected to every part of your body,” says Lindh, so a foot rub enhanced by heat can leave you blissed-out all over.
First, wrap his feet in separate hot, damp hand towels, then place a soothing eye mask over his eyes.
Romantic Valentines Day Ideas
Create a romantic day or night at home for two or create a valentines day for when you are alone.

You may be asking yourself " what can I do alone on Valentines day?" Well here is an article from Askmen.com about what you can do if you are alone on Valentines day. For men or women, these ideas are great!
While all your friends are complaining about having to buy their girlfriends gifts for Valentine's Day, do you wish you had someone to buy gifts for -- or at least someone to buy gifts for you? Yes, Valentine's Day is the day of love, romance and passion, but that doesn't mean that you don't deserve to make the day memorable.
So even if you won't be receiving chocolates or other goodies, there are plenty of ways to spend Valentine's Day if you're single and still want to have a good time; so don't even think about picking up that phone to call your ex-girlfriend. Use Valentine's Day to treat yourself to something good.
Treat yourself
Go to a spa, get a massage or check out the new restaurant you've always wanted to try. Get yourself that Gucci shirt you've seen on display for weeks now or purchase the cool mags for your car -- treat yourself like gold. Do what you enjoy doing most and feel good about yourself.
Have a party
Invite all your single friends or those whose dates are unavailable, and have a bash at your bachelor pad. Get some cocktails, appetizers and music going, and make the night memorable by taking it easy with your close friends. This is a great option if you don't want to spend the night alone.
Attend a party
If you're invited to a party, then go -- with or without a date. No one said that you couldn't participate in Valentine's Day activities if you don't have a Valentine. Hey who knows, you may arrive home with a "momentary" sweetheart.
Veg out
If you've had a hard day at work and just feel like kicking back and lounging at home, then bring home your favorite meal, watch TV, and rent those movies that you've always wanted to watch but never had the chance to. The point is to do whatever you want, and thank your lucky stars you have the remote all to yourself (although no woman would stand a chance anyway).
